Lucy Loo 'Lucy Longstocking', New from The East Wind

Every Monday and Friday Kyra releases a new digi at The East Wind Shop. Today I'm previewing the newest of one of my FAVE characters, Lucy Loo.  Meet 'Lucy Longstocking'.  This girl's got some 'tude!  I nabbed the fab sentiment from Ginger's House because it fit her just perfectly, sat her right on top and cut her out.  I thought she would make a fab door hanger.

I colored her with Copics in girly pink to enter in the Left of Center Girly Challenge.  The girly skull DP is DCWV.

I've even added girly LOC embellies.  How about that?  A number of my DT sisters have also made projects with Lucy and we've all colored her hair differently.  Isn't that fun?  Come visit the TEW FB group to see them all.

Oh, and BTW, there's a fab sale going on at the Shop.  Huge discounts in the Now or Never section, available through the end of June.  Get them before they're gone for good!  (there's even a few Lucy Loo's!)

I'm also entering this in the Corrosive Challenge ATG 200 Challenge Celebration, Tuesday Throwdown Wild Hair Challenge, Milk Coffee Anything But a Card and Simon Says Wednesday ATG.

May Monster Madness for HDH

There's a fun little Blog hop going on today and the Minions of Haunted Design House have decided to take part in MAY MONSTER MADNESS.  Visit the page and click the links to all sorts of Monster inspired stuff.  I've made a little project using the fabulous Pisces from the Horroscope collection at Delicious Darkness.  His snack is one of the heads from the Heads Will Roll digi from the Gross Anatomy set from Smeared Ink.

I cropped and merged the images in my Printmaster Pro program, printed them out, colored with Copics and fussy cut (what a PITA!) them to pop atop the fab background (that reminded me of the swirling waters of the Abyss) which is actually a digi paper from the Honor the Dead pack, also from Smeared Ink.

The cut, embossed and inked scroll is from the Fanciful Labels Cuttlebug folder with a slogan I nabbed from the tv advert for Shark Week.  Seemed fitting, don'tcha think?

I'm entering this in the Simon Says Monday ATG challenge.

Ripped to Ribbons for Macabre Monday

It's the second week of our Ripped to Ribbons Challenge at HDH and I've made a tag featuring the  fab "I Want You" digi from Ike's Art.  The hand is colored with Copics in my fave monster flesh combo and I've fussy cut it to allow those fab nails to rip that ribbon to shreds.   Added a little bling to the wrist and there she goes.  Sorry so short, but I've been a bit under the weather.  Be sure to check out the fab work from my teamies and come play along.  I mean how tough is ribbons, eh?  Just make sure they're not all sweet and sissy.  You know how we roll.

Aurora Wings Challenge #3

It's time for a new challenge at Aurora Wings Challenge Blog and our monthly theme is Butterflies. I've chosen the gorgeous Venetian Butterfly Mask for my project.

I sort of have a "thing" for masks, so I decided to turn this beautiful stamp into one with a whole lot of fussy cutting.  It was printed as large as possible on an 8 1/2 x 11" card stock, once on regular (for stability), and 3 more times on pearlescent to give it all a beautiful sheen.

I normally print with a Laser Jet Printer but it's acting up so I brought out the "big gun" Canon Professional Inkjet which seems to take FOREVER to print.  Much higher quality but...  I really didn't test how Copics would react on the pearlescent card stock.  Ummm, they don't exactly blend, they just sort of mush around.  I also found that when using the colorless blender, it sort of smeared the actual printed stamp so I stopped that immediately.  Not sure if it would happen with my laser printer or not, but it's all water under the bridge now.  I'm still pleased with how this turned out.  Unfortunately,  the iridescent quality doesn't show in any of my pix.

Here you can see the dimensional layers.  I've added punched starburst centers to the largest flowers and a combination of Liquid Pearls and adhesive flat backs throughout the design.  The antennae are wired with Liquid Pearls at the tips.  The mask itself was colored, glittered with microfine and embossed for additional interest.  Finally, I added some tulle a top a ribbon wrapped stick with which to hold it.  Please visit the Challenge Blog to view the gorgeous creations by my teamies and we hope to see you join us for our Butterflies challenge.

Don't forget to check to see if you're one of the WINNERS of last month's Monochromatic Challenge HERE.  The Shades of Blue Facebook Contest is still going on HERE.  And the winner's Announcement and Special Showcase of the Facebook Flash Contest is on our Showcase Blog HERE.  Always lots going on at Aurora Wings.

I am entering the following challenges with this project:

The East Wind Bride of May Challenge

It's time for another fabulous challenge at The East Wind and this time our theme is

I have chosen the gorgeous Aurora Daisy for my beautiful bride and used iridescent white and ivory (with a matte gold base) for my card.  The white mat is embossed with a Crafts Too Daisy folder, the sentiment with a small Cuttlebug folder and the die cuts are Spellbinders Lattice Motifs and Lattice Accents.

I've colored Aurora Daisy with Copics and added white and ivory "wedding confetti" flowers and pearls as a headpiece.  I think she makes a stunning bride, don't you?

Here's the dimensional shot.  Most of the layers as well as the die cuts were popped with foam.  The gorgeous pearl swirl is Prima and it was cut apart and trimmed to surround the image.  You'll be amazed at the number of different images my DT sisters have used for this challenge.  Be sure to visit them HERE.  We're so looking forward to your take on our "Bride of may" challenge.  Hope to see you soon.

I'm entering this in the Feeling Crafty One for the Girls/LadiesFlat Friends Die Cuts or Punches, DLART Thankful Thursday Anything Feminine, Milk Coffee Mother's Day or For a Special LadyOutlawz Paper a la Mode For a Special Lady, Creative Moments ATG/Bingo (using the left vertical Flower, Sentiment, More than 2 Layers), Paper Pretties Embellish Challenge, Rhedd and Rosie's All About Texture, Simon Says Wednesday Die Crazy, Whimsy Stamps May Monthly 2 or More Die Cuts Challenge, 613 Avenue Create ATG/Create Your Own Challenge (I tried but didn't quite make it so I guess it's ATG), Fitztown Feminine challengeFitztown Monthly Shabby Chic, Card Mania Emboss it, and Glitter and Sparkle Female Cards.

Bloom Where You Are Planted

Here's a card I made just for fun using the adorable new Cactus Sprite by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff of Aurora Wings.  Cacti are a pricky bunch, but in the Springtime they bloom with reckless abandon.  I set my little guy in the desert using a paper tearing technique to make my background which is supposed to suggest the desert sunset.  It's hard to imagine ANYTHING blooming in the desert, but the gorgeous arrays of cactus flowers dot the dry barren landscape with glorious color so my computer generated sentiment on Kraft seemed apropos.

Here's a closeup of this cutie.  He's colored with Copics, fussy cut and popped.  His prickly chubby shape makes me giggle.  Mitzi said her inspiration for this guy was a little cactus that her daughter received a a birthday present from one of her friends.  Too cute!

I'm entering this in the Simon Says Wednesday Spring Flowers ChallengeTuesday Throwdown Spring Blossoms, the Outlawz Monday Greeting Card Flowers challenge, Robyn's Fetish Cards with Flowers in the ImageDigi Galore Kraft challenge, and W2SB Bloom Where you Are Planted.

A Whole Lotta Rosie for Macabre Monday

It's Week 2 for our Whole Lotta Rosie Challenge at Haunted Design House.  What's that, you say?  We either want to see roses on your deliciously dark project, or a fat chick named Rosie, (or AC/DC, but you've gotta visit the Blog for that explanation). Easy peasy, eh?  My hubby frequently gives me a ration of S*** for all the stuff I save, but this time I hit the mother load with this fabulous bag.  Roses?  I've got ROSES!  (in the shape of a heart, no less)  The fabulous stamps were generously offered by Lisa Tyrell in celebration of the Left of Center One Year Anniversary.

Here's a closeup of the gorgeous skull, complete with a giant rose, no less!  I didn't really have to do much coloring, just the rose, since Lisa's shading is so fab, but I did print it 4 times and fussy cut to give her dimension and added some Stickles to the rose and some gems.

And the skellie goblet.  OOOHhh!!!!  It's printed three times on white and once on matte metallic, fussy cut, popped and encrusted with jewels.  WooHoo!

Here's the dimensional shot. And tell me that bag wasn't begging to be altered!

And of course, my sentiments, exactly.  I'm entering this in Left of Center Challenge under the LOC theme, the very FIRST ATG/Skulls challenge at A Step in the DarkThat Craft Place Alter a Can / Alter It challenge, AND (I'm truly going to hell for this) the "Y" is for Your Mama Challenge at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers (which of course, just BEGS for an explanation)  Hope it's ok it's not a card.

It's no secret that I LOVE my wine.  My mother, however, was not so thrilled about how MUCH I love my wine and affectionately (?) referred to me as "her little Wino".  Personally, I thought she needed to chill, so were she still with us, this would have been her Mother's Day gift bag.  (and since she's not, I think the skull is appropriate.)  xxx

New Aurora Wings Release for the FB 1000 Member Celebration

Yes, it's an exciting day for Aurora Wings fans as the 1000 Member Celebration is going on now HERE.  In honor of the occasion, Mitzi is releasing this brand new digi image called Anima Sola, or Lonely Soul.  Members of the DT have colored up this beauty which can be seen on the Aurora Wings Showcase Blog.

It's amazing how different the image can look with different color variations.  I've chosen to go with a darker theme, coloring the entire image in the Copic N range before adding just bits of color over the poppies (R02, R05).  The black DP with white flowers is from the 8x8 DCWV La Creme Stack.
Anima Sola will be available at the Aurora Wings Etsy Shop .

Hope to see you all at the Aurora Wings Facebook 1000 Member Celebration.  There's fun, prizes, new releases and a little surprise ;) so hurry on down (or request membership if you haven't already). Please scroll down to see what I've done with the adorable freebie Mitzi has generously offered in celebration of this fabulous event.

Dandelion Freebie from Aurora Wings

Don't miss all the fun at the Aurora Wings Facebook 1000 Member Celebration.  This new Dandelion Sprite is yours FREE as a thank you from the fabulous Mitzi Sato-Wiuff, artist of the amazing fantasy images.  As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to combine it with this Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I printed the image first and embossed wth the folder, then printed, colored and fussy cut again to pop over the image since some of the embossing overlapped the image.

Here's a closeup. Could she be any cuter?  She's colored with Copic and I've added Stickles to the puffs and seeds and sprinkled them with white flock so they are sparkly AND fuzzy.

Sentiment is computer generated and popped as well.  Hope you can join in the fun during this fabulous FB event going on NOW HERE.  New releases (be sure to come back here today too for a gorgeous one) as well as contests and prizes.  Hurry, the first one has already started, but the event goes throughout the day and ther will be a 24 hour one so the whole world can join in.  See you there.

I'm adding this to the Simon Says Wednesday Spring Flowers Challenge, TTRCD May 6-12 ATG, the Digi Makeover ATG Challenge, TimbroScrapMania Spring is in the Air, and the Cutie Pie April Showers Bring Cute May Flowers Challenge.

Taurus! for Wicked Wednesday ATC

Wow!  Seems like it's been ages since I've been able to craft anything but DT projects.  Any disruption to my normal schedule totally throws me for a loop.  And as fun as it was, I'm still recovring from my birthday trip, but today I did a little catching up on my fave challenge blogs and noticed Wicked Wednesday's Challenge this week is Taurus.  Well, that be ME, so how could I possibly let this one go by?   Delicious Doodles is sponsoring and I adore Teri's Horrorscope images, also found in the Delicious Darkness shop (DUH!), so of course, that's what I used.  Just his head, though.  I did the background digitally by copying a Taurus symbol over and over from the net and printing it in shades of red.

I printed Taurus twice so I could fussy cut and pop him for dimension.  The sentiment is done with my Dymo and I've added a jump ring through his nose.  Me, stubborn?  That's a lotta BULL!

Debuting Victorian Lizabeth for Lacy Sunshine

Today is my Saturday to post on the Lacy Sunshine Blog as a member of the Lacy Sunshine Creative Artist Team and I'm so excited to be debuting the new Victorian Lizabeth (scroll down to get yours). I couldn't help but do something Steampunk , using the Steampunk Debutant DP's from Graphic 45.

Isn't she AMAZING?!  I've colored this beautiful gal with Copics in the rich shades of the papers.
Skin: E000, E00, E11 Lips: E04
Hair: YR14, E07, E09
Dress: BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18
She's fussy cut and popped for dimension and I've added tiny metal gears from Tim Holtz.

Here's a better view of the dimension.  I've popped the layers so I could add die cut gears (Tim Holtz for Sizzix) that I've rubbed with Rub'n Buff and embossed with Frantage.  I can see this new darling gal in a lovely vintage setting or even a much darker scene as well.  Can't wait to color her up again.  Look for her in the New section of the Shop.  The Lacy Sunshine Blog is different from the Challenge Blog.  There is tons of inspiration, tutorials, and news of what's new and exciting in the Lacy Sunshine world.  Hope to see you there.

I'm entering this in the Fan-tastic Tuesday Floral Challenge, the Corrosive Head Gear Challenge, Simon Says Wednesday ATG, 613 Avenue Creates ATG,  Quirky Crafts Something Beginning With "S" (Steampunk) and SanDee's and amalie's Steampunk Heavy Metal Challenge.

The East Wind Die Cuts and Punches

Happy May Day!  It's time for a New Challenge at The East Wind with the theme

and the team is using the fabulous new May Freebie called Love Mom.  You can get her at no charge just by subscribing to the Newsletter.  Check out the big hot pink banner on the left side of the Challenge Blog to sign up.  I've made a double center stair step card (at least I think that's what it's called).  The gorgeous die cut gates on either side are Spellbinders exclusive to Heartfelt Creations and I've used several Cuttlebug border folders to emboss the steps.

Here's the beautiful Freebie, perfect for Mother's Day.  I've colored her with Copics, fussy cut and popped her on a Spellbinders Oval and Scalloped Oval.

Here's the side view.  Sorry about the pix.  The day I photographed was partly cloudy and so they're kind of dull and full of shadow.  The circular tag is a Cuttlebug Emboss Plus folder backed by a Spellbinder's scalloped circle and the butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.  Be sure to check out the fabulous work by my teamies and I might also mention that the current Facebook Challenge just happens to be Mother's Day so I hope you enjoy this latest Freebie and have a chance to enter there too.

I'm entering this in the Digi Makeover For a Special Lady Challenge, Die Cuttin' Divas Make it Girly, Paper Pretties Mother's Day/Spring, and 613 Avenue Creates ATG.
